Undoubtedly, technology has certainly changed the way we live. It has impacted different facets of life and redefined living. It also plays an important role in every sphere of life. Several manual tasks can be automated, thanks to technology.
In OLDays, I tried to present the current lifestyle in a mocking yet reflective manner. It seems no one would like to put down our mobile phones and observe clearly how our traditions and how Hong Kong is. The clay works of the two little stores, symbolizing "life in old days", are created through my grandfather's mouth about his old days in Hong Kong. That's how OLDays starts.
I want to bring out the message: Hong Kong is a beautiful city, where many of us are working hard for ourselves, for our past, and for our future. I believe we can keep these traditional stores and works in Hong Kong just by little effort from everyone of us. I find Hong Kong is experiencing a great change: not only our quality of life, but also our attitude when facing traditional culture and work. Just take an example, did you concern about BAMBOO SCAFFOLDING when you walk along the street? Many may say no. However, the fact that these tranditional HK local works are always important to our life cannot be denied. Here I would like to challenge: putting down the phone, and trying to feel in spirit in Hong Kong. This little city may give you another energy. There are many so-called old style traditions in our home, waiting for you to explore.
